Description

Smash Burger Tacos Recipe combine crispy tacos with juicy burgers—topped with cheese, pickles & sauce for the ultimate quick, fun dinner idea.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 fat ratio—this isn’t the time to be healthy)
  • 4 small flour tortillas (street-taco size, or cut larger ones down)
  • 4 slices American cheese (yes, it has to be American—fight me)
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil (vegetable, canola, etc.)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Optional toppings: shredded lettuce, diced onions, pickles, ketchup, mustard

Instructions

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the oil and let it get hot—like, “water droplets sizzle” hot.

Season the beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix lightly—don’t overwork it, or you’ll get meatballs.

Divide the beef into 4 equal balls (about 4 oz each). Place one ball in the center of a tortilla.

Smash it with a spatula or another heavy pan.

Press hard—you want the beef thin and fused to the tortilla.

Cook for 2-3 minutes until the edges crisp up. Flip the whole thing (beef-side down now) and cook another 2 minutes.

Add cheese to the beef side, fold the taco in half, and let it melt for 30 seconds. Repeat for the rest.

Top as desired and serve immediately.

Warning: These disappear fast.

Notes

Overloading the beef: Keep it thin, or it won’t crisp up.

Using cold tortillas: Let them sit at room temp first, or they’ll crack when folded.

Skipping the smash: Press hard—this isn’t a gentle hug, it’s a WWE move.
