Description

This cheesy Million Dollar Ravioli Casserole is rich, easy to make, and perfect for weeknight dinners using frozen ravioli and creamy cheese layers.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound sausage

  • 1 (28 ounce) jar marinara sauce, such as Rao’s®

  • 1 (25 ounce) bag frozen ravioli

  • 1 cup cottage cheese

  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened

  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt

  • 1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • fresh basil, for garnish


Instructions

Step 1: Prep the Dish
Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Lightly coat a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray and set aside.

Step 2: Cook the Sausage
Place a skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 pound of sausage, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon as it cooks. Cook until the sausage is browned and crumbly, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain off the excess fat.

Step 3: Make the Meat Sauce
Pour the 28-ounce jar of marinara sauce into the skillet with the cooked sausage. Stir everything together to combine well, then turn off the heat and set aside.

Step 4: Mix the Creamy Filling
In a large mixing bowl, combine the following:

  • 1 cup cottage cheese

  • 1 (8 oz) package softened cream cheese

  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt

  • 1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic

Stir until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

Step 5: Add Ravioli to the Cheese Mix
Add the 25 oz frozen ravioli straight into the bowl with the creamy cheese mixture. Gently toss until all the ravioli are evenly coated in the cheese blend.

Step 6: Layer the Casserole
Spread the ravioli-cheese mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Spoon the sausage marinara sauce over the top, spreading it out so the ravioli is fully covered. Top everything with 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, sprinkling evenly.

Step 7: Bake to Golden Perfection
Transfer the casserole to your preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes, or until the cheese is golden brown and bubbly.

 

Step 8: Garnish and Rest
Remove the casserole from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil slices.

Notes

Letting the casserole rest after baking helps the layers set for cleaner slices.

If using refrigerated ravioli instead of frozen, reduce baking time slightly to avoid overcooking.
