  • Author: Emily

  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Golden-crusted chicken breasts topped with garlic, Parmesan, and mozzarella—this Longhorn-inspired dish is rich, cheesy, and effortlessly delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

Prep Your Stations

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Lightly grease a baking dish.

Set up three shallow bowls:

Bowl 1: 1/2 cup flour

Bowl 2: Beat 2 eggs with 1/4 cup milk

Bowl 3: Mix 1 cup bread crumbs, 1/2 cup Parmesan, 1 tsp Italian seasoning, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/4 tsp pepper.

Dredge the Chicken

Pound chicken breasts to even thickness.

Pat dry with paper towels.

One at a time, dredge each piece in flour, dip into the egg mixture, and coat evenly in the breadcrumb-Parmesan mixture. Press crumbs onto the chicken for a firm crust.

Pan Sear

Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.

Add the chicken and cook 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.

Transfer to the prepared baking dish.

Add Cheese and Garlic

In a small bowl, mix the remaining 1/2 cup Parmesan, 1 cup mozzarella, and 2 minced garlic cloves.

Divide this cheese mixture over the tops of each chicken breast.

Bake

Bake in the oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C) internally and cheese is fully melted and bubbly.

Rest and Serve

Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Optional: Garnish with parsley or a squeeze of lemon for brightness.

Notes

Can be prepped in advance: Assemble and refrigerate up to 24 hours before baking.

If the cheese topping starts to brown too quickly, tent with foil in the oven.

Don’t skip the resting time—it keeps the chicken juicy and tender.
