Ingredients

  • 1 package Oreo cookies (crushed into fine crumbs)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup chocolate chips or chocolate spread
  • 1 package refrigerated pie crusts (or homemade pie dough)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp sugar (optional, for sprinkling)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare Oven and Baking Sheet

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper so the hand pies won’t stick.

Step 2: Make the Oreo-Cream Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreo cookies with the softened cream cheese. Stir with a spoon or rubber spatula until the crumbs and cream cheese form a thick, dough-like mixture.

Step 3: Roll Out Pie Crust

Unroll your refrigerated pie crusts on a lightly floured surface. Use a cookie cutter or a glass to cut out circles about 4 inches in diameter. Reroll scraps as needed until all crust is used.

Step 4: Stuff the Hand Pies

Place about 1 tablespoon of the Oreo-cream mixture in the center of each dough circle. Add a few chocolate chips or a small dollop of chocolate spread on top of the filling.

Step 5: Seal the Hand Pies

Fold each dough circle in half over the filling so it becomes a half-moon shape. Press edges firmly with a fork to seal, making sure no filling leaks out during baking.

Step 6: Make the Egg Wash

In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk until smooth. Brush the mixture over the tops of each hand pie lightly — this will help them turn beautifully golden.

Step 7: Add Optional Sugar

If you like extra crunch and sparkle, sprinkle the tops with sugar now before baking.

Step 8: Bake Until Golden

Place the prepared hand pies on the parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15–18 minutes, or until the crust turns golden brown and the filling is hot and melty.

Step 9: Cool and Serve

Remove from the oven and let the hand pies cool slightly on the baking sheet so the filling sets just a bit. Serve warm for gooey chocolate goodness, or at room temperature for convenience.

Notes

Use fine crumbs so the filling holds together.

Brush egg wash just before baking — this avoids soggy crusts.
